WHAT TO EXPECT
- Upon booking your package, you will receive a private link/PDF to my customized client guide, full of tips, tricks, instructions, and suggestions for optimizing your session.
- You may bring your own attire and accessories. I also have a limited selection of lendable items on-hand and some new-with-tags available to purchase.
- When you arrive, over mimosas, we will sign some paperwork and get to know each other a bit. We can help you determine the order of outfits and make creative decisions about which to incorporate. We will chat about the features you want to highlight in your images, as well as any insecurities you may have.
- If you've booked the Gold package, Abbie Sage will be there to do your makeup. All you have to do is arrive with a clean, moisturized, bare face.
- We do not offer hair services, but we can provide heat styling tools upon request.
- You will have privacy to change into each garment, and I'm available to help lace corsets or secure garters upon request. And don't be shy about asking for some help dressing -- trust me, there's nothing I haven't seen!
- Haven't done this before? No worries. Based on my experience and training in boudoir, I will coach you through a variety of poses, prompts, facial expressions, and ideas.
- You will receive the benefit of multiple different backgrounds that each offer a unique and interesting vibe, as well as a plethora of vintage props.
- Within four weeks of your session date, you will receive a link your online gallery. You will select your included images, but also have the option to purchase additional pictures and digital/print releases.
Each session includes complimentary mimosas and access to my client closet. Alternatively, you're welcome to bring your own lingerie or buy new-with-tags outfits from my collection. The location fee is included in the package price. Learn more about the process and my editing style beneath the slideshow.
MY APPROACH TO BOUDOIR
I prioritize classy and elegant posing illuminated by natural light. In some sets, I may use a soft light to lift shadows, but there is no flash, no blinding or neon, no unflattering overhead lights. I tend to cater to what is often called "the female gaze," meaning that I typically shoot with the goal to help you feel beautiful and sensual, not overtly sexual or risqué (though I can direct a shoot that way upon request!).
For example: you're in charge of your level of nudity and suggestiveness. You can get as naked as you want, but I will never ask you to remove clothing and I will never suggest lewd poses. The only thing more important than gorgeous pictures is your comfort and confidence.
I have photographed an incredible variety of stunning women -- from brides-to-be to a Mormon grandmother, women of all shapes, sizes, and skin tones.
My absolute favorite thing in the world is to show a client a quick sneak peek of my screen on the back of the camera and hear her gasp "That's ME?!" You are perfect. It's my job to help you see what everyone else does.
You'll see in my portfolio that my images range from "light and airy" to "dark and moody" based on the background and attire. Some of the backgrounds at the boudoir call for a moody style while others are light & airy. As such, I will recommend certain outfits in certain rooms. Regardless, I aim to stay close to true color when it comes to your eyes, hair, skin tone, and garments. I've shot many sessions in the bordello already and am familiar with what colors and styles work in which rooms.
FAQ
Can I bring or buy my own lingerie?
Absolutely! In addition to lingerie, I have a whole set of "common" wear that I recommend bringing. I'll send you the PDF with suggestions when you book.
I maintain a well-stocked client closet with garments to lend because Wallace is a tourist town, and people don't tend to travel with their most intimate apparel. All garments are washed every single time, whether worn or not, and all clients will be provided with panty liners.
Will my photos be edited?
Yes, always. When it comes to retouching, I prefer a soft and natural look. I do not do any significant transformations in Photoshop in terms of altering your body or changing your features. You are absolutely gorgeous the way you are, and if you're in doubt, it's my goal to prove it to you.
By default, I will smooth (not remove!) stretch marks and skin texture, as well as remove temporary bruises and blemishes and reduce the visual distractions of things like garment tags. I love to make your natural eyes pop without altering them unrecognizably.
Upon request and for an additional editing fee, I can make more significant changes, like removing tattoos/birthmarks/scars.
Will my photos be shared publicly?
My contract reserves the right to use non-identifying photos in my online portfolio, like detail shots, silhouettes, etc. I will ask you to approve in writing any images that include your face before sharing online.
I do keep a physical collection of my best shots to show to potential clients. The nature of printed books allows me utmost control over the audience and accessibility of my work. I bring the photo album to brides, for example, and let them look through the book while we discuss pricing and process. This is a 1:1 and a very private experience.
All of the pictures you see as examples are models who traded their time for use of their likeness or clients who have agreed to let me publish any identifying photos. Of course, if you're happy with your pictures and are willing to let me use them for marketing, that is always a huge compliment and honor.
